Our client is a global solution provider for liquid food packaging. The company, located in Laval West, is looking for a Payroll Specialist, Benefits and Human Resources Assistant who will be responsible for creating and maintaining payroll files for Canadian employees (and eventually American employees). This person will perform the complete processing of payroll in accordance with company policies, the collective agreement and legislative standards. Their payroll solution is ADP WorkforceNow.

Benefits offered :

  • Salary between $70,000 and $85,000 depending on experience

  • Telecommuting 3 to 4 days a week

Main responsibilities :

  • Act as a resource person for employees and administration for payroll-related topics;
  • Assist the Human Resources Manager;
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining employee files;
  • Analyze and validate timesheets in accordance with the collective agreement and company rules;
  • Prepare payroll for unionized (37 employees) and non-unionized (215 employees);
  • Reconcile payroll and expense register, follow up on expense reports and make reimbursements;
  • Ensure administrative follow-up of benefits in the payroll;
  • Analyze and balance vacation provisions and recuperation hours;
  • Verify the group insurance invoicing, pension plans and union dues, rebates for social benefits
  • Maintain and optimize the schedule of annual payroll processing activities;
  • Complete management of time and absence management system;
  • Produce and transmit records of employment, T4, T4A, R1, and other tax slips as well as year-end reports;
  • Produce payroll reports for accounting;
  • Track government remittances, support payments and wage garnishments;
  • Produce employer's declaration on the CNESST portal and track compensation payments;
  • Creation of employee files in various systems;
  • Perform union discounts;
  • Meet with new employees to introduce benefits and train them on timesheets.

Profile required :

  • 5 years payroll experience
  • College diploma or combination of training/relevant experience
  • CPC title with the Canadian Payroll Association (an asset)
  • Have worked with ADP WorkforceNow (an asset)
  • Bilinguism English and French (oral and written)
  • Master of various IT tools including Excel and Word
